Georgia State Representative BJay Pak Will Not Seek Re-election – Gwinnett Daily Post

Chalmers Pak & Burch attorney Byung “BJay” Pak, currently serving as a Georgia State Representative, announced that he will not run for reelection this year. Pak, who has served three terms in the Georgia General Assembly, first made the announcement on his Facebook page. The Gwinnett Daily Post published an article about Pak’s  decision.

“When I came back into public service in this role (six) years ago, I made a promise to myself, my family and my friends that I will give it my all during my time here, and that I would return to being a citizen after a few terms,” Pak wrote on Facebook. “I am fulfilling that promise.”

The article mentioned Pak’s key positions in the Legislature, including deputy majority whip, vice chairman of the House Ways and Means committee Income Tax subcommittee, and a special appointment to Gov. Nathan Deal’s criminal justice reform council.
