The team of attorneys at Chalmers, Adams, Backer & Kaufman, LLC is dedicated to providing creative and effective solutions for our clients. We begin each client relationship by committing ourselves to understanding our client’s unique goals and objectives, and by ensuring we understand how the client defines a “win.” We then dedicate our considerable legal expertise, resources, passion and experience to achieving that result.
Our firm began in 2010 as a political law boutique. As a result of the firm’s ongoing growth, our attorneys now practice in the areas of administrative law; corporate and business law; family law and estate planning; international business and commercial transactions; appellate law; litigation, including civil and commercial, constitutional law, employment, family, intellectual property and securities; nonprofit and tax-exempt organization law; political law, including campaign finance, corporate political activities, election law, government ethics, government investigations, lobbying and pay-to-play rules; and securities law. Our lawyers are admitted to practice in fifteen states and the District of Columbia.
In addition to their legal expertise, our attorneys bring a wealth of real-world experience in business, politics and government to their legal practices and client relationships. Among our ranks are entrepreneurs who have built successful businesses; senior attorneys at the U.S. Department of Justice; counsel to presidential, gubernatorial, and other statewide candidates and elected officials; adjunct law professors at major universities and at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point; counsel to national and state political party committees; CPAs; elected and appointed public officials; leaders in national public policy and advocacy organizations; former prosecutors; thought leaders and noted authors and speakers on legal issues; a former FBI agent; servant leaders and volunteers in their communities; proud veterans and military spouses; law clerks at federal and state appellate and trial courts; coaches of youth sport teams; and members of Mensa (now we’re just showing off). This breadth of real-world practical experience, when combined with our first-class legal expertise, helps make our lawyers formidable and creative counselors and advocates for our clients.
We value our clients and try to treat them like family. It is important to us that our clients sleep better at night knowing that we have their backs. And we get great pleasure in doing everything we can to help each client achieve a “win,” using that client’s own definition of what that term means in any given set of circumstances.
