PRACTICE FOCUS
Political law, election law, and real estate
Wisconsin
Nick is an experienced advocate and counselor whose practice centers on political law and elections. He represents political parties and organizations, candidates, campaigns, and advocacy groups on political, constitutional, and election matters—and with a proven record of fighting for election integrity and a willingness to take on controversial, high-consequence cases, he is the counsel clients turn to when the stakes are highest. That fighting spirit is grounded in substantial courtroom experience: he has conducted numerous jury and bench trials, briefed and argued appeals in state and federal courts, and served as lead counsel at oral argument before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Nick works closely with the Republican National Lawyers Association, having chaired its Wisconsin chapter, and the Republican Party of Wisconsin, where he chaired its Election Reform Task Force. His engagement in Wisconsin election law began as an undergraduate coordinating Election Day attorneys during the 2004 presidential campaign and has continued without interruption.
Alongside his political and election work, Nick maintains a substantial real estate and commercial practice. Over more than a decade he handled major eminent domain, property tax, and zoning matters at the administrative, trial, and appellate levels, and built an equally deep transactional practice. He continues to advise clients on real estate disputes, transactions, and property tax and eminent domain matters in Wisconsin and beyond.
Nick serves as in-house counsel to a developer with a large real estate portfolio. Earlier he held government roles, including in the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel, the state Department of Justice, and the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.
