Zachary M. Wallen Prevails Before North Dakota Supreme Court in Constitutional Challenge

Chalmers, Adams, Backer & Wallen, LLC congratulates attorney Zachary M. Wallen on a significant victory before the North Dakota Supreme Court in a constitutional challenge involving the state's voter-approved legislative term limits amendment.

Representing clients in proceedings concerning North Dakota's voter-approved term limits amendment, Wallen argued the matter before the Court earlier this year. In a unanimous decision, the Court ruled that a proposed constitutional measure to replace the state's current legislative term limits with a 16-year limit could not appear on the November ballot.

The decision highlights the complex constitutional and procedural issues that can arise in election law matters involving ballot initiatives and proposed constitutional amendments. It also reflects the importance of experienced counsel and strategic advocacy in high-stakes constitutional and election law litigation.

Congratulations to Zach on this outstanding achievement and his successful advocacy before the North Dakota Supreme Court.
