Jon graduated The Ohio State University in ’83 (Acctg/Finance), University of Georgia School of Law in ’87 (J.D.), was immersed in estate planning at a national accounting firm, obtained his CPA certificate and spent 4 years with a boutique Buckhead family law firm.  He has represented men and women in family law matters and handled estate planning for individuals, couples and businesses owners.  Jon is meticulous, prepared, an assertive negotiator and aggressive litigator; a problem-solver.

Family Law issues can be the most important thing in your life when they arise and we all manage it differently, some are overwhelmed by emotion, fear, uncertainty or anxiety; others play ostrich; some “want this over;” and others dig in because they don’t want it.  Some want a divorce, others need one, and some know they have grown apart and want a resolution before things are blown out of proportion, cost a fortune or ruin relationships and friendships; and while some feel their life is over, others see a new beginning. 

Your head may be spinning, and you need answers, because this will affect everything that matters, so it is important to recognize that though the divorce will not go on forever, the results will. Pres. Theodore Roosevelt said, “nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care”,  and a phone call often shows whether an attorney cares, you can feel their passion.  

Great results require being realistic and better prepared, they don’t just happen, and are achieved by developing an accurate understanding of the issues, with the attorney and client working closely throughout.
